Silox Group, which is the majority owner of Silox India, has over years of technical studies, developed a unique grade of Zinc Oxide i.e. Zinc Oxide-Active.

Silox India offers this product from its state-of-the-art plant in India for the Asian Region.

Zinc Oxide-Active is a high surface Zinc Oxide which in combination with fatty acid works as a high performance and cost saving cross linking agent in natural and synthetic rubber. The efficiency of zinc oxide during vulcanization is improved by maximizing contact between zinc oxide particles and the components of the formulation.

Higher efficiency is obtained when the high surface area of the product facilitates the small particles to be uniformly dispersed throughout the rubber matrix.

Zinc Oxide-Active can be more readily and homogeneously dispersed in rubber when compared to traditional Zinc Oxide Grades.

This facilitates Zinc Oxide-Active to be an ideal solution for the Rubber Industry from the angle of reducing the Zinc Oxide loading in the Rubber Compound without any impact on the final properties of the Rubber Compound.

Quality of the Rubber Compound

Mechanical properties of compounds produced with reduced concentration remain unchanged and better after ageing.

Zinc Oxide - Active provides good dimensional stability and thermal conductivity due to its ability to increase viscosity of compound, hence increasing the productivity. Blooming and mould fouling reduced due to the low zinc oxide content.

Very low levels of impurities such as lead, cadmium or manganese and copper which are "poisons" for rubber.

ECO Friendly Product

Increasingly lower levels of zinc in compounds is preferred in Rubber Compounds, especially from environmental point of view to avoid contamination with water during wear of Tyre / Rubber components. Zinc Oxide – Active, due to lower loading in Rubber Compounds, offers great support in this direction.

The zinc content of latex wastewater is reduced by more than 50% if Zinc Oxide- Active is used with a good dispersing agent in the formulation.

Zinc Oxide Active is also well known to reduce the level of nitrosamine.

Very low levels of carcinogenic impurities such as Lead, Cadmium, Manganese and Copper.
